Creative director and brand strategist case study for Coach Soti, showcasing a bold personal brand identity for a football coach with education products and coaching services.

COACH SOTI

/OVERVIEW

Coach Soti was built as a personal brand for a football coach whose work extends far beyond the sideline. The goal wasn’t just to create a name and logo for a coach. It was to build a brand that could hold coaching philosophy, education, digital products, one on one services, and a long term point of view on the game.

The opportunity was clear from the start. Most coaching brands either feel overly generic, too grassroots, or visually disconnected from the value they actually offer. Coach Soti needed to feel sharper than that. More structured. More ownable. A brand that could speak to clarity, leadership, development, and modern football thinking without losing the grit and emotion that make the sport what it is.

At its core, Coach Soti is about helping coaches, clubs, and players move with more intention. Better structure. Better habits. Better understanding of the game. That meant the brand needed to feel credible and strategic, but still rooted in real football culture. Not corporate. Not polished for the sake of it. Just strong, clear, and built with purpose.

This wasn’t just about designing a visual identity. It was about creating a full ecosystem around the brand. Strategy, identity, book covers, campaign thinking, and a clear creative direction for imagery so the world around the brand felt as cohesive as the mark itself.

/THE APPROACH

The work began with brand strategy. Before designing anything, the brand needed a stronger position. Coach Soti wasn’t being built as a motivational personality brand or a generic football content page. It needed to feel like a serious platform for coach development, football clarity, and structural thinking. A brand with practical value, but also a recognisable edge.

That strategic foundation shaped the direction from the outset. The positioning centred around leadership, education, and a better way forward for coaches and clubs. Not louder opinions or recycled content, but clearer systems, sharper thinking, and tools that help people improve what happens on the pitch and around it.

From there, the visual identity was built to match that same feeling. Strong, bold, and instantly recognisable. The mark carries a sense of movement and structure, while the blue and yellow palette draws directly from football culture, energy, loyalty, and team identity. It feels athletic, but not disposable. Contemporary, but still grounded in the realities of the sport.

The brand system was designed to work across multiple formats and levels of communication. Not just logo use, but profile icons, social graphics, campaign headlines, educational products, and service based touchpoints. Everything had to feel like it belonged to the same world, whether it was an Instagram post, a coaching resource, or a one on one offer.

A key part of the project was the book cover design. Products like 4 Phases of Football and The 5 Pillar Club Structure weren’t treated as separate pieces. They were developed as part of the wider brand architecture, so they felt like extensions of the Coach Soti philosophy rather than one off downloads. The covers carry the same visual weight as the rest of the identity, giving the educational side of the brand more authority and consistency.

Creative direction also played a major role. The imagery needed to move away from polished stock style football visuals and into something with more atmosphere and truth. The direction leaned into locker rooms, old footballs, team huddles, matchday preparation, notes, boards, books, and behind the scenes details that actually reflect the life of a coach. The result feels gritty, nostalgic, and grounded in lived football culture. Not staged perfection, but moments that carry tension, discipline, routine, and meaning.

That imagery direction became the basis for the wider campaign language. Strong headlines, high contrast compositions, documentary style photography, and a mix of monochrome and saturated colour helped create a campaign feel that was emotional but controlled. The campaign work gave the brand movement. It showed how the identity could do more than sit still. It could lead, rally, and carry a message across social and promotional content with real presence.

/THE OUTCOME

Coach Soti now feels like a fully realised personal brand with range, credibility, and a clear point of view. It doesn’t read like another coach trying to build an audience online. It feels like a platform. One with structure behind it, products within it, and a recognisable world around it.

The strategy gives the brand direction. The identity gives it recognition. The book covers give the educational side of the business weight. The creative direction gives it atmosphere. And the campaign layer proves that the brand can show up with energy and consistency across digital content, resources, and future growth.

Most importantly, the brand now reflects the depth of what Coach Soti actually offers. Not just coaching services, but a philosophy. Not just football content, but a way of thinking. That’s what gives the brand staying power.

Coach Soti proves that personal brands in sport don’t need to feel messy or one dimensional. When strategy, identity, creative direction, and campaign thinking are aligned, the result is something far stronger. A brand that feels built for the game, and built to lead beyond it.
