Where Are You Destined to Live? What are ley lines and How to Read your Astrocartography Map

Today, I want to dive into something I know might raise some eyebrows: Astrocartography. I definitely overthought whether or not to even write this (as usual), because letā€™s be real, spirituality tends to get an automatic eye roll from some people. But the truth is, weā€™re stepping into a new life, and Iā€™m determined to stop fearing judgment. After all, this is our blog, so we might as well be our most authentic selves, right?

Anyway, Iā€™ve spent so much time worrying that people are going to hate what I like or believe in, instead of trusting that the right people will find this. So, letā€™s talk Astrocartographyā€”combining the ley lines of the Earth with your birth chart to figure out where the most ideal places for you to live or visit are.

Why Do We Believe in This?

To start, I need to explain that yes, we are big believers in energies, secular spirituality, and all the rest of it. But, we're also naturally sceptical and donā€™t take things at face value. So, when the universe is trying to communicate something to us, it usually has to show up in multiple ways before we fully believe it.

Example 1: Connecting the Dots with Ley Lines

We first learned about ley lines around three years ago. But since we hadnā€™t done much travelling outside of Queensland in our adult lives, we couldnā€™t really test the theory or run any ā€œexperiments,ā€ so to speak. We filed that information away, promising to revisit it when we had more experiences to compare.

Fast forward to 2023, and we had our big trip planned to Scotland, Ireland, the Netherlands, Greece, and Indonesia. Once we got home, we decided to start a full-blown comparison. Hereā€™s the thing about ley lines: they can affect you differently depending on where you are, even down to a specific suburb in a city.

Since we didnā€™t stay in just one place during each country visit, we had more than enough data to run a solid experiment. What made this really fun was that our friends, Kat and Terry, were with us the whole timeā€”and theyā€™re on the same spiritual journey. So, we sat down to dissect how we each felt in different places and compared it with our astrocartography charts.

When I say the results were shocking, I mean it. These descriptions were so detailed and specific, right down to the emotions we felt in certain places. It wasnā€™t just ā€œthis line is good for youā€ stuff. It was way deeper, and we started to think, could it really be this simple? Could where we live have such a massive impact on our lives?

Thatā€™s when we really started taking the idea of leaving Australia seriously and began looking for places where our ley lines matched what we wanted out of life.

Example 2: The Beckham Revelation

So, one slow weekend, Andrew and I sat down to watch the David Beckham documentary. Now, if youā€™ve seen it, youā€™ll know the storyā€”but if not, spoiler alertĀ ahead.

Everything was going great for David: successful career, love of his life, the whole fairy-tale. Then, they move to Madrid, and suddenly everything falls apart. Victoria Beckham talks about how she made a comment about the Spanish using a lot of garlic in their cooking. It wasnā€™t meant to be negative, just an observation, but the Spanish tabloids went wild, labelling her cold.

Meanwhile, Davidā€™s career stayed strong, but their personal life was in shambles with cheating scandals and other issues. As weā€™re watching this unfold, I turn to Andrew and say, ā€œWouldnā€™t it be funny if this was all because of their ley lines?ā€ And, surprisingly, he had been thinking the same thing.

So, naturally, I grabbed my phone and looked up their birth details to check their astrocartography. The results? Letā€™s just say you wouldnā€™t believe me if I didnā€™t show you the charts. Their ley lines in Madrid werenā€™t exactly favourable for a harmonious life.

At that point, we were fully converted. This wasnā€™t just a cool theory anymoreā€”this was something we took seriously. We now treated astrocartography like a guidebook for life decisions, especially when it came to where we wanted to live.

Searching for Our Ideal Place

With our newfound belief in ley lines and astrocartography, we started researching countries that aligned with our goals: places that offered a digital nomad visa, were affordable, and where the ley lines were favourable for bothĀ of us.

I thought this search would take ages, but we were wrong. The very first place we looked at was Spain, which we had already been discussing for months. Within 10 minutes, we found areas where our ley lines lined up perfectly with what we wanted. It felt like the universe was confirming that our instincts had been right all along.

So, What Are Ley Lines?

Ley lines are invisible energy lines that crisscross the Earth. Some people believe that these lines are powerful energy pathways, and when they intersect, they form energy hotspotsā€”think of places like Stonehenge or the Pyramids. Now, astrocartography takes these ley lines and combines them with your birth chart to tell you where in the world is most aligned with your personal energy.

It sounds a bit out there, I know, but after diving into it ourselves and seeing the way we felt in different places, we became true believers. Where you live, travel, or even work can either feel energising or completely draining, depending on where these ley lines intersect with your personal astrology.

Whatā€™s a Birth Chart?

A birth chart (or natal chart) is essentially a snapshot of the sky at the moment you were born. It maps out the position of the planets, sun, moon, and other celestial bodies in relation to where you were born. Your birth chart can reveal a lot about your personality, strengths, challenges, and even where you should live to thrive.

Our Ley Lines in MontefrĆo, Spain

When checking ley lines, there are two key things you look at: the general reading, as well as the harmonious and disharmonious aspects. The general reading gives you an overview of the energies in a particular area. The harmonious aspects highlight places where youā€™re more likely to feel at ease, happy, and fulfilled, while the disharmonious aspects point to areas where you might face challenges or difficulties. But here's the interesting partā€”even disharmonious aspects arenā€™t necessarily bad. They can indicate areas of personal growth or lessons you need to learn.

What you have to remember is that some of these ley lines arenā€™t a black-and-white "good" or "bad." For example, Andrewā€™s ley line in Melbourne is all about settling down and starting a family, which for some may be exactly what they want. However, thatā€™s not what we want right now, so for him, he doesnā€™t see this as a good line. It really depends on what you want out of life, so itā€™s important to take that into consideration when interpreting your own ley lines.

Another thing to consider is proximity. Depending on how close you are to your harmonious and disharmonious lines, the effects can vary. If you're closer to your harmonious line, and your disharmonious line is still a fair bit away, it can have almost no impact on you. The positive energy from the harmonious line can override any potential difficulties from the disharmonious line. Itā€™s all about balance and positioning.

Take a look at me and Andrewā€™s ley lines in MontefrĆo, where we purchased our home. It was the perfect balance of harmonious aspects for both of us, aligning with what we wanted in lifeā€”stability, growth, and adventure. When we first saw the map, it felt like the universe was giving us a big thumbs up.

This kind of confirmation was exactly what we needed. Seeing how aligned we were with MontefrĆo sealed the deal for us, and now weā€™re moving full steam ahead, trusting in the journey and what this new chapter will bring.

How Do I Check My Astrocartography Chart?

You can check your Astrocartography chart on a website called Astro. Full disclosure: the siteā€™s interface is not the easiest to navigate. But once you get the hang of it, youā€™ll be able to see your personal ley lines overlaid on a map of the world.

I've made a video that goes into how to read it all... Otherwise, if youā€™re like, ā€œNo thanks, this is too complicated,ā€ you can always reach out to me. Iā€™d be happy to help you read your chart, and depending on how many charts you want done (for yourself, family, etc.), I can send you some pricing.
